Gippsland FC - Newsletter - March 2016

Dear Parents and Players,

The season is one month closer and the committee is quickly realising that for this club to be the best it can be we will need a lot more volunteers to assist in this goal. So this update is a bit of a ‘call to arms’ and a ‘Situations Vacant’ page!

Committee

The Gippsland FC Committee would benefit from having more parents either as direct committee members or part of sub-committees that will need to be set up (see below). At the moment the club is looking for a volunteer to become the Club Secretary. This is a vital role and it has to be legally filled. If you would like to discuss the position further please contact Ian Murphy on 0429 629 321.

Sub Committees

Gippsland FC, like any other club, need to finances to stay survive; this is particularly the case with a start-up club. At the moment, not having a settled home means not having a canteen which is a large fundraiser for community clubs. So in order to overcome this hurdle (one of many) everyone will hopefully pitch in to address this issue. The list is by no means exhaustive and we welcome any suggestions.

  • FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE (including SPONSORSHIP)
  • CLUB SOCIAL COMMITTEE

If you have any experience in either area or are in a position to step forward as an individual or know a company that could become a potential sponsor please contact Martin Luders on 0412 340 972 and have a chat.

Football Roles

If you would be interested in helping your child’s team out the club are on the lookout for Team Managers for each of our teams.

We are also looking for a Football Coordinator & Football Manager to oversee the operations of the club to leave the coaches free to perform the role they have been employed for-namely to coach.

Position descriptions are available on our website at www.gippslandfc.com If you would like further clarification on the roles please talk to your child’s coach.

Girls

The development and nurturing of our girls squad is a major part of our clubs philosophy. We are still actively seeking a coach for our squad and hope to have that announced before the end of the school term and the training sessions rolled out shortly after.

Fees
Online registrations will be available by the end of the week and an e-mail will be sent with instructions on how to register when ready. You will be given the option of paying the lump sum fee upfront or signing onto the payment plan below. The player’s kits are included in the fees and the U15 & U18 players will also be participating in strength conditioning sessions. If you have any further questions please e-mail financegippslandfc@gmail.com

Payment 1 - Due 31/3/16
Payment 2 - Due 31/5/16
Payment 3 - Due 30/6/16

Training (including venues)

All the Boys teams have training at Trafalgar on Monday 29/2/16. The March schedule is also now available. The club are continuing talks with various councils about access to their facilities and at the moment, patience seems to be the watchword. Once we have a clearer picture of what is available throughout the year we will draw up and issue a timetable for training times and venues (this would be an example of a task the Football Manager would perform).

Communication

At the moment a number of people are coordinating communication depending on the platform they are familiar with. To keep things central if there is a message/issue you would like aired please do it through Alan Stewart on mediagippslandfc@gmail.com

We would also like to remind all players and parents that what is posted on our website/FB page etc. is a reflection on our club. Please keep this in mind.

Season 2016

We still await a draw but it will be communicated as soon as it is received. The first games will be early April and we may try and schedule some practice games in March (coaches will provide more information when available).

In closing, let’s go back to the beginning. We need volunteers, we need them quickly and we need as many as we can get. If you can help in ANY way please get in touch!

Yours in football

GIPPSLAND FC
