Hello South West Tigers,
thanks to everyone who came to the Greenway Park for the first Monday night even though we didn't train due to weather. This helped coaches and managers identify players and parents.
We will continue to run training on Monday nights. This will be for the 8th, 15th and 22nd of February. We will switch to the normal training nights for the year from the 1st of March. Coaches will confirm these with their teams shortly.
Next week we should be able to get on the park and get some training done and play AFL 9s or a modified version for the younger kids. This will run as follows:
U9, U10, U11, U12 and U13 age groups:
Training with their team coaches from 5:30 - 6:00.
At 6:00 - 6:30 the U9, U10 and U11 age groups will mix together and form 4 - 6 evenly matched teams to play a modified AFL 9s game run by AFL NSW/ACT.
The U12 and U13 age groups will mix together and do the same.
We will run AFL 9s for about 4 - 6 weeks based on the coaches wishes.
U15 and U17 age groups:
At 6:00 - 7:00 they will mix together and form 4 - 6 evenly matched teams and play AFL 9s run by AFL NSW/ACT.
From 7:00 - 7:30 they will split up into their sides and do another 30 minutes of training with their coaches.
We will run AFL 9s for about 4 - 6 weeks based on the coaches wishes.
OPEN
AFL NSW/ACT have offered to run an Open competition after the kids have finished. We will see how much interest we get and try and get some teams running for all the parents to show off their skills. U15s and U17s can play in this if they haven't had enough by then.
There is no cost for U9 - U17s. There will be a small cost for the OPEN competition.
Please only wear runners / joggers / sand shoes and NOT FOOTBALL BOOTS in February. We will be able to put boots on in March.
