The game was ended early with 12 minutes left on the clock following a gas leak scare close to the ground.
Kent and Mick Viney were again proving handfuls for the Swans as they gradually built an imposing quarter time break, kicking 8 goals to 2 to go into the first break up by 37 points.
A 6 goals to 1 quarter by the Saints left the result beyond doubt as the home side went into the main break up by 58 points.
Kent again showed his value to the team by scoring the opening 3 goals of the term while Tony Halloran chimed in with two for the quarter to again further decimate the reigning premier.
The last term was a struggle with the Swans showing some grit to hang in for the quarter before fire brigade officers brought a halt to the game after reports of a gas leak near the ground. After some time officials had no choice but to declare the game over and award the 4 points to the Inverell Saints.
Even though the score line suggests the Saints dominated play, Coach Dick Gleeson wasn't impressed with his side's performance particularly in the first half. They weren't switched on and allowed the Swans easy possessions in the midfield.
The team has played 2 games in 5 weeks and that may have been a reason for the unimpressive performance by the competition leaders. More hard work and dedication, particularly at training, is required if the club's success is to continue.
We'll get Matt Harrison and Jono Elphick back in the next fortnight and that will further bolster the team but there's also many others sitting on the sidelines wanting a chance to prove themselves in the side. By the standard of the performance on Saturday, there may be some positions available for this weekend's road trip to Gunnedah but that will depend on the attitudes and desire of some players to retain their place in the team at training this week.
