Sun June 10th- The second loss in a row. Not only the second loss of a game of football but the second game in a row our pride has been spanked to an old enemy. First Eltham, now this week Greensborough, where is this going to end?
I was fortunate? or unfortuante, I didnt get to see the game, but from all accounts that have come back to me it was not a pretty game. Brent Gutterson kicked five goals in a rare highlight for the team, other than that all reports lead to a dismal performance.
The 19's and the Reserves didnt fare any better, both going down in a black day for the club. There was the return of plugger Keenan in the reserves, and he managed 7 goals with Cuthbertson who also kicked another 3 goals. If both can make it onto the training track this week, it could be a quick return to the winners list for the mont machine.
So this week we come up against a very inform North Heidelberg at Monty. North preseason was supposed to be the club in turmoil and the club most likely to drop out of the finals. Form so far points the finger back at Mont, and with the next three weeks serving up the top 3 teams in the competition there will need to be some serious soul searching by the players and the coaching staff to turn around the last 2 shameful weeks of football.
All it will take is a win against North this week and things are back on track, so keep the faith and lets go Monty!
