Saturday saw the boys travel to Wyong to take on the Magpies. As is the case most weeks we weren't entirely sure how many of the guys were going to show up, but when we pulled up at the twin servo's on the F3 it was great to see 15 players there and ready to go, with another 3 on their way or already at the ground, you could tell it was going to be a good day for the boys.
With 18 guys on the field we started really well, with first gamer's Tyson Jolly and Cameron Keast getting plenty of touches in the first quarter it was the like the guys have all been playing together from day one. It was great to see the versatility of the team with a few players playing out of their normal positions and still playing great footy.
I'd like to commend the guys for their discipline, the game could of got out of hand and out of reach if the boys didn't keep their heads. With that the boys played some really good footy in which was probably our best team effort with a full side. As mentioned Tyson and Cameron had great first games, with Teaguey (Ryan James) and Justin Humphries having their best games for the year.
There's still plenty of room for improvement with some of the little things we need to get better at if we are going to challenge Gosford in the 2006 Grand Final rematch this weekend at No. 1, they are the bench mark in this competition, we have the calibre of players to take this game if we play as the team we have been playing as for the past couple of weeks.
Hopefully everyone can get down early this Saturday to watch the boys, because it will be one of the game's of the year in the U/18 competition, also we can use any help we can get, Runner's, Water Runner's and just supporter's in general will make it much easier for everyone who's involved.
Also congratulation's need to go out to two of player's, with Josh Nesbit making the NSW/ACT RAMS U/16 side, and Mitchell Rawson for making his Debut in the Black Diamond Cup side against Wyong and also getting named in the best six. Mitch has also been invited to train at a camp in Sydney this Friday which will be run by Essendon, who know's even the man himself Sheed's might be there.
Well done boys and well done to the rest of the team winning three in a row, let's keep it
