After spending three seasons with VFL club Williamstown, and two years with the Western Jets prior to that, Jack Walker returns to the Bloods on a full time basis for 2016.
During his stint at VFL level, Jack played in three Development League Premierships, and made his senior debut in the final round of 2014 where he kicked two goals against Sandringham.
While he didn’t play any senior footy with the Melton Football Club during 2015, he has played 14 senior games for the club after making his debut as a 17 year old back in 2010. In 2014 he played five senior games where he averaged 29 possessions and showed his class and ball winning ability.
Senior coach Brad Murphy knows Walker will be a big addition to his team in 2016. “Jack is a hard-running midfielder who I rate very highly. He is an extremely popular member of our club, has genuine leadership qualities and will lead our midfield in 2016 and beyond”.
Football Manager Brad Jamison noted “already we have seen the professionalism Jack brings to the club with outstanding leadership and elite training standards”.
Walker himself is delighted to be back at the club. “The best part of being back at Melton is being around all my close mates and having the will to succeed with them. Also not having to travel as far anymore is a big help”.
And his expectations for next year? “With a full team and a solid pre-season under our belt I expect that we can really push for that long awaited finals appearance”.
Jack joins his younger brothers Riley and Lachlan, and his cousin Daniel, at the Bloods in 2016.
