Michael Rennie a former Junior Club President takes over as our leader at a very exciting time ( pinching words from the Prime minister) with so many youngsters coming through and a senior side very hungry to go that couple of steps further.
The Election for the Executive Committee was as follows, and that included another former Junior Club administrator in Victor Bendrups, who we very much welcome to Senior Club ranks
President (1 Year) Michael Rennie
Snr Vice President (1 year) Graeme Lawrence
Secretary (1 year) - Dennis Phillips
Vice President (3 years) - Craig Coghlan
Exec Member ( 2 years)- Victor Bendrups
Exec Member (1 year) — Spiro Agius
Michael Rennie also announced the Members of the 2016 General Sub Committee:-
Continuing on are Col Smyth, Brian Power and Tim Graham and they are joined by newcomers
Jane Bleize, David Jackson, and Peter Whitbourn. Plus there will be two representatives from Junior Club , Clint Wheeler and one other.
Michael will also be forming a Social Sub Committee and would love to hear from any volunteers to help build on a fantastic social year just past.
The Annual General Meeting , as mentioned above, awarded Life Membership to four very worthy people who have all provided exceptional service for more than 10 years. John Selton, Dianne Falls, Daniel Mariniello and John Hartigan.
DIANNE FALLS.
Earlier in the year, the Committee voted that Dianne be awarded Life Membership and that the medallion was presented to her at the Annual Ladies Lunch that was held in August.
Dianne has been working as our Gatekeeper for more than 20 years through rain, hail, sickness, anything. That includes all senior home games and junior finals. She has been a most trusted part of our match day operations and a most worthy recipient of the Club’s highest honour.
DANIEL MARINIELLO
Daniel has been about the Club since 1996 when he started playing in the Under 12’s. He progressed into the senior Club playing for 9 years constantly being plagued by Injury. He has been Runner for the Reserves this past four Seasons including the three Premierships and more than that he has been a person who has helped create a real Vermont culture in our younger players as well as bringing them together in all sorts of Social Activities. He has also assisted with player fitness. He will be the Senior Runner and involved a fitness for the Senior group this coming Season. Daniel is Vermont through and through and it time to recognise his contribution
JOHN HARTIGAN
John has been a vital part of our Bar operation for more than 15 year as our “ Head Barman” and really at times, the only one who knew how our system worked and what it needed to be maintained. John for many years was also like a caretaker, who was prepared to be last man out on a Thursday or Saturday night, checking and locking doors. Because he lives locally, he regularly would be called on to be at Club to receive deliveries stc. Not to the most glamorous of duties, but vital to the well being of the Club
