Along with many generous community members, the Broncos donated surplus goods
to the kids of the indigenous communities in the Pilbara District. Here's Club President handing over the items to Paul Coles.
Here's the letter of appreciation that we received:
To the members, staff and supporters of the Chittering Junior Football club,
I recently put a call out to my brother and one of your members namely Paul Coles, to see if he could assist me with donations of football gear for several members of my community and the kids of the Indigenous communities I visit as part of my job.
These kids love their footy but for the most part can’t afford boots, jumpers, footballs or any of the other items you usually associate with kids football, never the less the kids play bare foot, more often than not on red dirt ovals complete with rocks, prickles, the odd cow or stray dog and with well- worn footballs.
Paul said he would put the word out and see what response he got.
I can tell you that from the pallet of goods that arrived at my station, the response was overwhelming.
In the upcoming weeks I will be visiting a couple of the Indigenous communities near me where I will hand out all of the items you kindly donated, I will send the club photos of the lucky recipients of your kindness.
I know I speak on behalf of the kids and their communities when I say thank you very much for your donations, your kindness and your support, between you all you’ve made community life a bit better for these kids.
Thanks and regards,
Shaun Coles,Senior Constable 11977
