The Northern Knights Football Club Head of Fitness (Part Time) will be responsible for the development and implementation of all Strength & Conditioning practices within the Northern Knights Talented Player Program. This will include the collaboration of information from the medical staff to gain perspectives on athlete wellbeing, appropriate rehabilitation processes and high performance conditioning practices.
The role will incorporate the use of technologies to quantify training processes, as well as educate the athletes on training principals & game specific running requirements.
The primary role of the Head of Fitness is to perform all the duties to achieve the best conditioning outcome, as well as preparing athletes to reach their full potential.
Main Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Oversee all physical preparation and sport science practices within the program which includes but not limited to running, resistance training, core training, recovery processes and GPS education.
- Develop and implement a fully periodised plan for the conditioning component of the entire season.
- Have a key input into the injury management and rehabilitation practices.
- The development and implementation of a GPS database to analyze, interpret and compare the physical capabilities for personal athlete development.
- Look to bring quality and best practice to the program with a high level of documentation and reporting.
Experience & Qualifications
Mandatory:
- Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Movement) – (or Equivalent)
- Evidence of being able to manage people and programs
- Level 1 Australian Strength & Conditioning Association (ASCA) Certificate
- Proficient IT Skills – advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs & GPS Software.
Desirable :
- Practical experience in High Performance Sport
- Practical experience in delivering Strength, Conditioning, Rehab & Recovery programs.
- Experience in AFL Talented Player Programs
