Please find attached the weekly fixtures for this weekend, the 4th, 5th and 6th September 2015.
In the NEAFL the Sydney Swans were too strong for Aspley last weekend and finished up winning the game at Graham Road by 20 points.
The Swans kicked 7 goals to Aspley’s 2 goals in the last quarter and finished the game running over the top of Aspley.
Now we are scheduled to play the Sydney Swans again this Saturday at Graham Road at 12 Noon in an Elimination Final.
For Aspley to continue in the Finals this is a must win game or it is season over.
Our Under 19s who outclassed Maroochydore back in the Semi-Final meet Maroochydore again in the Grand Final. A reminder of the scores in the Semi-Final- Aspley 19.13 127 defeated Maroochydore 2.5 17.
The game is being played at Burpengary on Saturday at 9.00 am. I don’t want to put the mockers on the boys by making a sweeping prediction statement.
I will just say –we wish you all the best – play well and bring home the silverware.
Our Youth teams.
Big shocks last weekend both our undefeated teams the Under 12s and the Under13s both were beaten in their Semi-Finals and both were beaten very easily.
So now they have to play in Preliminary finals this weekend in an attempt to make the Grand Final.
The Under 12s play Wilston Grange Red at Redcliffe on Sunday morning at 8.00 am and the Under 13s play Wests Juniors at Redcliffe on Sunday at 9.45 am.
Just a recap for you. Our other 2 Youth teams Under 14s and Under 16s both had very good wins in their respective Semi-Finals in the previous week and now progress to the Preliminary Final.
The Under 14s play Sandgate at Zillmere on Sunday at 8.30 am and our Under 16s play Maroochydore on Sunday at Zillmere at 12.30 pm.
I have my fingers crossed for these 2 teams as I think that if they both perform to their potential they can both make it through to the Grand Final.
Both of these teams played some very good football and eventually overcame the opposition quite comfortably in their respective Semi-Finals.
Now to summarise for you - we have 6 teams playing in Finals this week- the NEAFL, our Under19s and the 4 Youth Teams U12s, U13s. U14s and U16s.
We wish you all the best and hope that you are all successful.
Our Juniors (U6 to U11) have finished their season and are having their Presentation morning on Saturday in the Function Rooms at the Club.
As always we hope you have a most enjoyable weekend with whichever team you are involved with or follow.
Go Hornets!!!!.
