Last week the Fiona Winter Realty Noosa Tigers reserves squad travelled to Mayne for the 2nd semi final. Up for grabs was a chance to go straight into the Grand Final in 2 weeks’ time. We started nervously and looked like we hadn't had a solid hit out in a month, which of course we hadn’t!!
To be only down by 3 goals at half time was a good effort, however inaccuracy in front of goal hurt us. This inaccuracy continued in the third quarter but again the Noosa Tigers did not give up.
We started the last quarter still less than 4 goals down but Mayne kicked the first few goals and the game looked well and truly over. At this point we started to relax & our true form showed kicking 3 goals in a row to keep the final margin to 4 goals.
Although we lost the match, our effort in the last quarter will really give us some confidence for next week’s Preliminary final against Maroochydore at Burpengary.
Final Score: Mayne 9.10.64 defeated Noosa 5.10.40
