In a dour match, our boys struggled for most of the match only managing two goals to three-quarter time. Luckily for us though, Donvale had only kicked four.
An impassioned plea from Coach Ben Fisher got the boys fired up and they managed to slam though four goals to one to run our winners 6.10.46 to 5.9.39. Well done to the boys for bringing up their third win for the year.
The scene was set for the Seniors to take on Donvale, who beat us convincingly at home earlier in the Season.
The boys came out firing, scoring four goals in both the first and second quarters to lead by 24 points at half time. Josh Hughes was huge up forward and in the ruck, while Nate Briscombe was solid down back.
Donvale hit back in the third quarter, to get within seven points at the last change. Both teams had their chances to put the game away but Surrey Park was able to keep the pressure on and convert when the chances were there.
The final score saw Surrey Park 12.14.86 defeat Donvale 11.6.72. A great result to bring up the second win for the year…and a 105 point turn-around from the round 8 result!
For Surrey, our Goal Kickers were Josh Hughes with 5, Graeme Johns with 3, Paul Young 2, Zac Moore and Liam Doidge with 1.
Best Players were Josh Hughes , Tom Ross , Joseph Crabtree , Bede Briscomb , Tom Maine and Josh Garvin
