Maroochydore has locked in second spot on the ladder and qualified for a double shot at a grand final berth following a comprehensive win over Aspley on Saturday.
Going into the round, it was unlikely that ladder positions would change, however nothing is certain in football. And after a scintillating 8.5 to 0.1 first quarter against Aspley it was apparent that the Roos would hold on to that vital second spot.
The Roos continued the first quarter momentum for the rest of the match, piling on 26 goals to Aspley's four.
Hilly was back to his best with 6 goals while Jase Ainsworth was again temendous in and around the congestion. Special mention must also go to 15 year old and 3rd generation Roo Jake Warren (pictured) who did not look out of place in his first taste of senior footy. Well done Jake.
With each team to play one more match, split over the next two rounds, the top four will not change.
Minor Premiers Mayne will play off against the 2nd placed Roos for a spot in the Grand Final, while the 3rd place Noosa will meet the 4th placed Caloundra in an elimination final. The loser of 1st v 2nd will then play the winner of 3rd v 4th for that final GF spot. All venues TBC.

In the other games....
The Colts locked in a top 2 position after they comfortably beat Sandgate and the third placed University went down to Grange to kill off any hope they had of leapfrogging the Roos. While the Roos can still mathematically take out the minor premiership, it would appear unlikely as it would require a % boosting win this weekend while at the same time top placed Aspley would need to fall to second bottom Redland by a hefty margin.
The Reserves put in their worst performance of the year, going down to Aspley by 5 goals in a lucklustre display. The result, however, does not change our ladder positon with a third place finish and elimination final against Caloundra in the first week of finals already locked in. Mayne and Noosa will meet each other in the other final, however they are also still battling it out for the minor premiership with Mayne currently ahead with superior %.
The 3rds had a small hiccup in their final clash before finals, going down to Pomona by 5 goals. Like the other comps, the result does not change anything (besides lifting Pomona off the bottom of the ladder) and the Roos will face minor premiers Gympie this weekend for a spot in the GF. Times and venues to be confirmed.
