No doubt our Rooster kids are enjoying themselves this week and next as they relax on School Holidays.. As for us Parents ?????
Another great Sunday for Footy and again some great displays of Team Work, Sportsmanship and courage from all our Roosters…
Firstly, Congrats on some milestones.
This week Joel Crapper continued a marvellous family involvement at the club when he broke the banner for his 50th game in the Under 11’s! Two goals and a breakthrough result for the team made it a 50th to remember.
While Connor Oxley joined the 100 Club in the under 15’s. Well Done, Connor. A great achievement.
The week kicked off with our U9 Red team making the short trip to Reservoir for a night game on Friday. Lots of fun had by all and the kids loved playing under the bright lights….
Sunday morning saw the 9 Blue team again grace the main oval in the early kick off in much milder conditions to last week, while the White team headed to Northcote for a highly entertaining affair.
The under 10’s kicked off proceedings on the top oval taking on Monty which was followed by the under 11’s up against Yarrambat. By now you would have figured out I stay away from mentioning results of games in this wrap as we just want our kids to have fun and enjoy their footy, but I’ll make an exception on this occasion and say well done to Rob and his team. After a tough season they brought up their first win on Sunday, a great reward for never giving up….Well done.
The 12 girls were on the road at Monty, while the 12 boys headed in the other direction to Epping.
Both 13’s were at home on the main ground against quality opponents in Mernda and Eltham.
The 14s also had a home game against Diamond Creek. They were followed by the 15 boys up against Research, while the 15 girls rounded out a busy home schedule with a great display against South Morang on the top oval.
And rounding out the day was the 16’s who had the late kick off out at Yarrambat.
Sunday night saw the coaches of the Under 12’s and 15’s go under the microscope up on stage in our first on the stools session. Polly, Abs, John and Pete answered questions from their teams in a fun evening. We hope to get more of these happening before the end of the season and beyond.
In case you’re wondering, Polly likes to dress in women’s clothing, Abs has never been kissed?, John is pretty boring, he just loves footy and coaching, while Pete loves circle work and will give up smoking if his team wins the flag. It was also Pete’s Birthday. What better way to spend it than at the club….
This Sunday of course we have no junior games due to the school holidays, but the seniors are at home against Northcote Park which means it’s the Annual Presidents Lunch…
For just $30 you get a feed, beer, wine, soft drink and some great entertainment. The day will be hosted, by 3 time Carlton Premiership player David Glascott who’ll tell some stories of the heady days of the Blues, when money bought Premierships and the off field activities put today’s pretty boys to shame.
