The Fiona Winter Realty Noosa Tigers come off the bye weekend and now face an in form Maroochydore at Weyba Rd this Saturday.
The Brett Maloney coached Maroochy Roos are the only side to have beaten Mayne in the past year and a half and I'm sure would like nothing more than to pip their arch rivals at home on Saturday.
There will be as usual a huge crowd at Tiger headquarters this weekend to witness the clash which also coincides with Noosa past players day, a day never to missed.
Noosa suffered a pretty comprehensive defeat at home to ladder leaders Mayne a fortnight ago and have a substantial injury list. The losses of key playmakers Brent Maloney, Nick Hill, Brett Duke and Tommy McKittrick certainly haven't helped the Tigers whilst big ruckman Zac McDonald also looks set to miss some time with a facial injury. I did hear a whisper that senior coach James Gellie had his footy boots back on during last week and all the Tiger faithfull know how handy a player he was in last years Flag assault.
However upon talking with assistant coach Brad Cross, both key onballer Nick Hill and champion utility Brett Duke should be putting their hands up for senior selection this week. Noosa have a terrific record against their arch rivals, having not lost to the Roos since early 2010; I'm sure a record the Tigers would love to continue.
A big congrats to youngsters Jesse Maulthouse and Seb Rogers for making the South Queensland side last weekend and also to the irrepressible Robbie Copeland who went one further and made the Queensland State team. Well done boys and well deserved.
Its champion Geelong on baller and Brownlow Medallist Paul Couch as our guest at this weeks presidents lunch with heaps of interest already in what should be another great day at Tigerland.
Can`t wait and see you at the footy
Cheers
