An update on Mark and Deb’s daughter who is pushing the elite level in the girls ranks and has been selected to play State Under 16 AFL in the National Championships. A chip off the old block - determined and fierce like her dad and very talented across sports. Earlier this year, she represented Vic Metro in Sydney for Basketball, and later in the year she will represent the Senior Team of her School in New Zealand.
As well as making the State team, Daisy plays League footy for the Yarra Junior League. She plays for her MLC Senior Firsts, and last year received the Best on Ground during the Herald Shield. She plays with Molly McAuliffe (Simon and Jo) in her domestic team - Whitehorse Colts.
The club has had a request to provide some sponsorship for Daisy at the championship, which the committee will consider at their next meeting. However there may be other Friars out there also willing to assist, even if it just a message of congratulations and support. Deb loves that it is some way of connecting Daisy to her Dad's old stomping ground.
We certainly wish Daisy all the very best and anyone wishing to support her can contact Deb Bateman directly via Facebook or through the club
Well Done Daisy and Good Luck
