SWQ Thunder Girls Identified for State teams
Two SWQ Thunder girls recently attended the State selection Camp in Brisbane for the U13 G & U15 G State Team selections.
Lateisha Wilkins - Goalkeeper for our U13 Girls NPL team & Laura Gray - Player in our U15 Girls NPL team travelled to Meakin Park over the Easter School holidays following identification from the PS4NPL Queensland competition this year.
Both Girls acquitted themselves well againist a very talented pool of players from accross the state.
Laura was successful with selection into the U15 Qld State team and now attends training on a weekly basis on a Friday afternoon, increasing to twice a week in June, before attending a pre-nationals camp from 1st -3rd July, then heading down to the National Championships in Coffs Harbour from 4th - 11th July.
Lateisha unfortunately missed selection into the U13 Girls Team, however was named as a Shadow GK.
Both girls hail from the Kingaroy area, and therefore a massive committment on their behalf and their parents to attend training in Toowoomba on a weekly basis with their NPL team and committ to the NPL program.
Congratulations to both girls on your identification and achievement, and best of luck to Laura when she heads down to participate in the National Championships in July.
