Rhianna “Raz” Hilton started her career at the Kyabram Football Netball Club in 2003 as a 15 year old when the Under 17 competition was first introduced. Raz and her teammates won the inaugural premiership that year and then went back to back in 2004.
In 2005, Raz stepped up to B grade where she finished the season runner up best and fairest. From there Raz went into mini-retirement heading to University to pursue her career as a Property Valuer. She then returned home in 2010 and was apart of a B Reserve Premiership and in 2011 took on the challenging but successful role of playing coach in B Reserve, finishing the season with a Best and Fairest. In 2012, Raz again coached B Reserve but her successful year on court in 2011 saw her step up as a valuable member of the A grade premiership team. She played A Grade in 2013 and then took 2014 off to head overseas. Raz is again apart of the A Grade team this year and is having another crack at coaching, this time with B Grade.
Raz has found herself at the highest level of the competition after a number of years in B Reserve because of her willingness and eagerness to keep learning as a player. She is the type of player every coach wants in their team. Raz is not renown for her speed on court but rather her smart and steady head. She will always give 110%, which is clearly evident in the nasty blisters she obtains after every game. Raz is a respected and reliable club person who always puts her teammates first. The success Raz has had on and off the court at the club is a credit to her dedication and work ethic. I have been lucky enough to play with Raz in 4 seasons and have watched her love for the game grow as a player and coach. I cannot wait to play with you Raz in your 150th game and look forward to playing many more with you in the years to come. Congratulations Raz on a long awaited 150th game. You deserve it!! Love your favourite teammate, Mango.
