Jacana looking for players
Jacana Football Club are currently seeking players in the Under-12s and Under-14s competition, and are urging any local kids who want a taste of the game to join up.
“We only have about 10 players in the Under-12s, and about 12 in the Under-14s, so we’re definitely seeking new ones at the moment,” coach David “Spot” Currie said.
“We’d definitely welcome any young kids who want to come down and have a go”.
Training times for the club are Wednesday and Friday nights from 5pm to 6pm, and for any younger players wishing to have a turn, Auskick is operating from 9:30am Saturdays.
In other news, the club’s Under-10s are celebrating an eight-point win over Coburg on Sunday; the scores were 2-4-16 to 3-6-24.
“It was a beautiful win, a true team effort by the Under-10 boys,” Mr Currie said.
“Plus, we had good numbers at Auskick on Saturday morning and all the kids seemed to enjoy it”.
