Aaron Walklate's men will be chomping at the bit around 2.00pm this Saturday the 11th April when their 2015 campaign kicks off in the real deal where premiership points are up for grabs. Everyone this side of Chzechoslovakia knows that the Wederburn FC took out the 2014 Premiership by the narrowest of margins in extra time last season, but as everyone is also aware, a new season brings fresh opportunities for all clubs.
Charlton will be bolstered by the return of dangerous forward Tom Finlay who could well work alongside a very fit Joe McGrath. The class of the Walklate brothers, Rhys Thompson, Luke Kyriakides and the running speed and skill of the likes of Mulquiny, Judd, O'Connor and Clifford will give the Navy Blues their sustained class while Jimmy Baird provides another strong target. Daniel Thiesz adds dependability, experience and skill at either end of the ground. New recruits in Mark Vigus (Robina AFC, ex-VFL) and Anthony Tatchell (Talbot) offer determined hardess and key position flexibility respectively.
Justin Fulton's Reserves will give their all as usual in Justins debut as CFC Reserves coach. Doug Finlay will guide our U/16's this year starting this week while Kris Dixon and Anthony Collins are again coaching the U/13's.
The day has a full card of Football, Netball and Hockey at Donaldson Park, Wedderburn. The club hopes to see plenty of Navy Blue support on the day. Go Navies!
