Meteor Rites Take B Final Honours
Over the weekend of 14th & 15th of March, FCQ hosted the inaugural QCCU Womens 6 a-side Carnival held at the Palm Drive Junior Sporting Fields. Queensland Country Credit Union and Solarpower Gladstone sponsored this event providing a chance for 4 teams to take home some serious prizemoney.
The ladies forged their way through on Saturday playing 4 games and securing a spot into the finals series on Sunday where they competed in 3 more games to finish out the carnival. Meteor Rites made it to the SolarPower Gladstone Shield Grand Final taking home the honours beating Rockhampton team Bluebirds 3 nil. This carnival was a great opportunity for the team to have a hit out before the start of the junior girls and senior ladies competitions this weekend. A great weekend was had by all players and the friendships created, and awe inspiring work by what has been dubbed the "Junior Elite Squad" was fantastic.
