The Dandenong Stingrays Football Club has announced the appointment of their new operations and development assistant, Peter Dye.
In this new position, Mr Dye will be involved in general office management, football operations and administration for both the Under-18 and Under-16 squads, working alongside talent manager Mark Wheeler.
Mr Dye previously occupied a trainee role at the club from 2012 onwards, and has worked on a range of projects, many of which focus on getting young people from a wide variety of cultures and backgrounds interested in football.
Mr Dye said that this new job was a dream come true for him, and he is extremely excited about the prospects that it will bring.
“I have always wanted a career in the AFL industry, and now that I have this fantastic opportunity I will grab it with both hands,” he said. “It’s something I’m really looking forward to.”
Mr Dye’s experience will undoubtedly be an asset to the Dandenong Stingrays in the 2015 season – not only does he possess a Diploma of Sports Management, but as an accredited coach, umpire and veteran full-forward, he knows what it takes to achieve success on the field.
“We have a good group of boys in the TAC Cup squad. The goal is that they can all keep improving.”
“Hopefully we can win that elusive premiership this year.”
Mr Dye and the rest of the club have already commenced preparations for the upcoming TAC Cup season, which begins on March 28 against Gippsland Power.
