Mike Carns was full forward at Panton Hill during some of the most successful years for the club from 1951-1961 including a premiership in 1955 and a total of 160 senior games. Mike was a fast leading forward who could take a great mark and had a long accurate kick. This helped him on his way to winning the clubs lead goalkicking five times and kicking over 100 goals on four occasions. He was the clubs best and fairest 3 times and runner up once. Such dominance in a strong era was recognised by the club in 2001 when Mike was named full forward in the "Team of the 20th Century".
