Excitement is building at the Goannas AFL club as we unveil our new 19s coaching staff & jumper and start to prepare for 2015.
Coming on board is our new Under 19s coach Phil Lane, who has years of experience as Penrith Under 16s & Under 17s coach & has coached at junior representative & Giants Academy level. He will be capably assisted by Jeff Taylor who was Goannas Under 17s coach in 2014 & has coached with Phil at junior representative level. Together they bring experience, drive, commitment, football knowledge & good humour to the team.
Our new strip will feature the big Goannas/Giants G presently worn by our 1st Grade side.
An influx of new talent into the team will occur with over 10 players with representative experience - including 5 current Giants academy players - joining us in 2015. They will provide the experience around the ground to anchor the team as we welcome back up to 15 current players & new recruits. Our aim is to be both highly competitive, inclusive of all boys who want a game & provide a club culture of good behaviour & team values.
Phil & Jeff are ready to go & have organised a meet & greet with the prospective players & parents at the new social rooms at Gipps Road Oval, Greystanes during seniors training on Tuesday, December 9th at 7.15pm. We will provide a complimentary BBQ & drinks to be followed by a brief presentation in the social room overlooking the ground. Even if families are not yet sure what they are doing next year we would love to show them our brilliant facilities & outline our plans. Any boys who want a kick on the night should bring their boots for a 6.30pm start & they would be very welcome at seniors training. Please spread the word to any friends that did not get the email or to anyone who is keen to join us in what will be an exciting Season 2015.
The club looks forward to meeting as many new & returning players & parents on December 9th as possible.
