Andrew Cadzow spent 27 years looking after AFL in the Asia Pacific region but now he’s returning home, as an assistant coach for the Maroochydore Roos.
The former AFL Asia Pacific development manager will be helping out senior coach, Brett Maloney, in 2015 as one of two key coaching appointments at Fisherman’s Rd.
Cadzow brings with him a strong coaching pedigree, as a Level Three accredited coach and 2008 World Coach of the Year.
Current Colts coach, Steve Moody, will also be joining the senor coaching team as an assistant coach.
Moody has coached the Queensland Schoolboys U15s team since 2012 and was named Queensland Youth Coach of the Year in 2010.
Both Moody and Cadzow have strong ties to the Roos, both past players of the club.
Maloney was thrilled with the appointments, ahead of the 2015 pre-season, which starts on December 1.
“Cadz's position will incorporate a variety of roles on both match days and training nights” he said.
“His credentials are first class, having been involved in the game at a high level for a long time.
“His experience will be not only of great help to me, but the whole playing squad and club will benefit.”
Maloney said Moody’s elevation into the senior post was a natural progression for the former Roo.
“Obviously Moods is familiar to all at the club having coached the {Colts) the last few years,” he said.
“Moods has extensive experience as a coach at various levels and I’ve worked alongside him in various roles over a long period of time.
“He is a ripping bloke who understands community footy inside out. “
