Western Magpies are proud to announce the appointment of Quentin Johnson in the role of Colts (Under 19's) and Development Coach for season 2015. Quentin has rejoined the Magpies after formerly being Senior Season Coach at the Western Magpies from 2005 to 2009. Since then he has coached extensively with the South East Bush Rangers State Under 18's and with the NT Thunder. Quentin also has an experienced playing history at the Western Districts, Sunshine, West Brisbane and ZIllmere Clubs.
We are also pleased to announce that Quentin will be ably assisted by Reid Dobson (former Western Magpies Premiership winning player), and Justin Gore (Formerly Assistant Coach Under 16's). Over the next week there will be further coaching appointments.
We believe the appointment of Quentin and his experience with development coaching will lead the way with our player development programs from the Under 16's, the new Under 17's and Colts teams. The Development Program is an extensive overall coaching program designed to support players in providing a productive learning environment based on age specific coaching. Ultimately the program will improve the quality of learning and outcomes for both players and our club. Informative and practical information will be provided around all key areas of performance that can be used for the future. This program will then underpin our Senior football under the overall guidance of Glenn Humphry.
We believe this is a significant development for our club to ensure the sustainability of our football competitiveness now and into the future.
We will be arranging a meeting in the near future with all Players, Officials and Parents.
