In two fantastic vote counts on Friday night when both went down to the very last game played by the Seniors & Reserves. Lachie Johns won his first Senior Best & Fairest Award narrowly from three time winner Ryan Mullett and Nick Mendes got home from Connor McCafferty in the Reserves.
The Seniors had a different system than the traditional Votes Cards with every player being rated by the Coaches for every game. To see what difference it made, we also had the Vote Card system operating that actually provided the scores in the Player Auction. The result had exactly the same three players at the top in the same order.
The Reserves competition was intense and very much effected by players playing well and then being promoted to the Seniors. There were so many players who contributed to the Reserves Premiership year and at round 15 there were no less than four players locked together at the top of the count.
Well done to Lachie and Nick, to win with such awards with so much quality competition was a fine effort.
There awards along with many others will be presented at the Presentation Night on Friday 17th October.
