We rewind back to 1972 with an article written about the Juventus very own Sabidussi brothers.
BROTHERS CHASE THE BIG TIME
Christmas has come early for teenage brothers Carlo and Bruno Sabidussi,of Doncaster.
This Morning they leave on an all-expenses paid trip to Portugal – and the chance to become top line professional soccer players.
Carlo 18 and Bruno 16 who both play for State League club Juventus have been accepted for a trial with famous Sporting Lisbon Club. They are the first Victorian players to try their luck in Europe.

In Lisbon they will join nine other young players selected from all over the world by representatives of the Portuguese club.
The brothers owe their chance to Fantona, coach of the Brazilian team Cruzeiro, which played in Melbourne last January.
Carlo and Bruno trained with Cruzeiro and so impressed Fantona that the word got back to Sporting Lisbon officials.
If the two youngsters do not make the grade in Portugal they will go on to Italy “And if we fail there we still won’t give up” Carlo said ‘’ we’ll come back to Australia and try our hardest to reach the national team.
The boys certainly have it in their blood to succeed on the soccer field. Their father, Joe Sabidussi played for Juventus, Victoria and Australia during the mid 50’s.
