A big congratulations goes out to "our" Shaun Beattie (Knights U10 Coach), was awarded the Mayor's Award for Outstanding Voluntary Service to the Community, during the Stonnington Citizen of the Year Awards.
Shaun has been an Auskick coach since 2010 and has twice been the coordinator of the large Auskick preppie group. Shaun is also the U10 coach with the East Malvern Junior Football Club and is this year has been elected president Malvern Junior Cricket Club.
Shaun gave an outstanding acceptance speech, thanking the support of his family and fellow community volunteers who have supported his community endeavours. Shaun’s acceptance speech also mentioned the big challenge we face as parents engaging our children in sport/fitness activities as we try to compete with I-pads, I-phones , computer games, etc.
