1,000 game milestone at Avoca Football Netball Club
This weekend’s Preliminary finals at Princes Park in Maryborough will be an exciting affair for three long time stalwarts of the Avoca Football Netball Club.
Stacey Blair, Colleen Drummond and Alana Burge will be playing milestone games for the club which when totaled together is the equivalent of 1,000 games of netball.
Stacey Blair plays her 350th game for Avoca on Sunday in the A Grade Preliminary Final and she will be joined in this game by Alana Burge who will be playing her 300th game for the Bulldogs.
Colleen Drummond will play her 350th game for Avoca in the B Grade Preliminary Final on Saturday.
All three girls have been outstanding players for Avoca for many years having all been A Grade Best & Fairest winners, and A Grade premiership players on multiple occasions.
Stacey and Colleen are also Life Members of the Avoca Football Netball Club, and Alana will join them in this capacity after Sunday’s game is completed. Stacey is also a Life member of the MCDFNL.
The Avoca Football Netball Club congratulates the girls and wish them well for their milestone games, and hopefully they will achieve a victory in this week’s Preliminary Final’s and will be able to add another game to their total the following week in their prospective Grand Finals.
A more in depth description of Stacey, Colleen and Alana’s career at Avoca can be seen on the Avoca FNC website and Facebook page and also in the Pyrenees Advocate.
