The Mighty Knights featured in 5 Grand Finals on Sunday.
An extremely tough day at the office with 1 flag from 5, but we should be extremely proud of the way in which all our Knights played and conducted themselves though out their finals campaign. We have a big chance with our Youth Girls team playing Whitehorse Colts in the YJFL Grand Final, next Saturday 10.30am at Bulleen Park, so get there and support the girls for our 2nd flag !!
U16 Div 1 had a courageous win, having fought off a late challenge by top placed Murrumbeena. They won the flag from 4th position which shows what can be achieved with a totally committed team. Well done to all the boys and support crew
U14 Div 5 looked on track to win with a great first half of footy but Ormond came out after the break and were over ran by a fast finishing Ormond beating us by 10 pnts
U15 Div 3 were the unluckiest as they gave Murrumbeena a 4 goal headstart by qtr time. The boys pegged the lead back to draw at the final siren. After 10 mins extra time, they were pipped after the 2nd siren with 'Beena slotting through a major. Lost by 4 pnts
U15 Div 1 had another unbeaten year and looked set at qtr time. Hampton however had different ideas and started to run our boys off their feet. Hampton ended up winning by 27pnts
U16 Div 4 played their final against Caulfield and after 3 close contests though out the year and finishing 1-2 on the ladder, we just missed out again by 19 pnts
So lets rest up now, clean the footy boots and put them away for next year and dont forget the Presentation day on Saturday 13th Sept, hope to see everyone there !!
