Even day results rise at Lakes Entrance last Saturday with wins to seniors and reserves in football and A and C grade in netball. The seniors were behind all day and had a limited bench but came home with a wet sail kicking 7 goals in the last quarter to move back into second spot and keep their double chance hopes alive. Darren Allen and Roddy Harrison were voted best. Reserves had a nail biting contest and thanks to an inspired Brendon Woodward goal in the last thirty seconds came home with a two point victory. Well done to Scotty and the boys.
A grade continued on their winning way recording a comfortable 13 goal victory. Best on court was Bronwyn Evans and the Amcal coach’s award went to Alyshia Murphy. C grade recorded their third win of the season beating forth placed Lakes by 6 goals. Best on court was Maddy Grant and the Amcal coach’s award went to Katie Blennerhasset.
Last Saturday night we held our annual Ball at the Bairnsdale Sporting and Convention Center and it was a great success with everyone getting behind the 1920’s Gangster theme. A big thank-you to Jo and Jeremy Woodward plus their team of helpers who helped decorate the venue. A great night was had by everyone.
Just a reminder that the club is combining vote count and presentation night into the one event. Please keep Saturday October 4 free to come and celebrate the year. The Vote count/Presentation night will be held at the Bairnsdale Sporting and Convention Center starting at 5.30pm and will include a two course dinner for $20 per head.
Tonight the Glenaldale Cricket Club is catering for dinner to help raise money for a local family which is going through a difficult period with a sick child. This is a tremendous initiative so please bring family and friends along to enjoy a meal after the game.
Today we welcome the Wy Yung tigers to the cattery and the senior football match should be a highlight with both clubs vying for second spot on the ladder. Let’s come prepared to play and best of luck to all players.
Go Cats!
