This Saturday sees the final game of the season when we take on a rejuvenated Old Trinity at home. The stakes are high with Trinity playing for the last remaining finals spot and while we now have a decent % break on Old Brighton (who play Old Xavs away next week) we still need a win to absolutely guarantee our place in the top division for 2015.
With unprecedented player losses in the off season we were touted as relegation certainties this season. Our lads have been under the pump all season and despite being undermanned they never given up and now sit on the cusp of playing ‘A’ grade in 2015.
In fact through adversity we have uncovered some real gems who will be regular senior players going forward. It has only really been Uni Blacks that have got hold of us and most weeks we have given a decent account of ourselves.
We enjoyed amazing support a few weeks back in the Old Brighton game which was very much appreciated by the players. We ask all supporters and players - past, present and future to please make the effort to get to the “Bell” on Saturday and show your appreciation to the players for their efforts this season and support them in their quest to get a win on the board.
Another great reason to get to the Waverley Park on Saturday is to see the Marty Kelliher coached U19 Golds take on Hampton Rovers in the 1st semi final starting at 9.20am. By virtue of finishing 3rd we get a home final.
Saturday also sees the final match day lunch of the season and everyone is welcome. Superb 2 course meal starting from 12.00 noon. RSVP to Richard Williams rwilliams@woodards.com.au
