We continued or good form from the Caulfield game, bursting out of the blocks against the Moorabbin Kangaroos. Fordy and Gav were on target with early majors. We suffered a blow with in form ruckman Danny Wilson laid low by a virus that saw him removed from the match.
The hosts showed plenty of fight and spirit but couldn’t make a dent on the scoreboard. The backline was on top with Wooly, Kris Merz and Ben Laier repelling most attacks. Aidan Jolly and Crackers were dominating the clearances providing plenty of opportunities for the forwards. Fordy finished with four goals and the Kangas has nobody to go with Gav. Fittingly, the last kick on the siren belonged to the skipper who slotted his 6th for the day. The crowd heard the familiar cry of “that’s my boy “for (maybe?) the last time.
The reserves needed to win and needed some luck to advance to the finals. They rowed their side of the boat but unfortunately results didn’t go our way. Payday and Flea finished with three apiece whist Foxy, Hendo, Tima, Cam and Hilly were among the best.
