Always a big day at Blackburn and nothing had changed except the ground was in terrific nick. This was a game the Seniors had to win and they did thanks to a sensational job done by our defence. The Craig Coghlan CSR Monier Award went to Dean Millhouse. Other best were Ryan Mullett, Jacob Castricum, Paul Chadwick, Tim Johnson, Matt Willcocks, Rory Lehmann, Adam Parker and many more. Good to see Kyle Emley back in the fold and he played very well. The Reserves stumbled in the last couple of minutes making some bad defensive decisions. The Perry Fletcher Award went to Andy Hackett, a youngster on the rise. Other good players were Travis Bird, Jarrod Conroy, Jarryd Smith, Nick Mendes, James Shambrook and Ash Froud. The Under 19’s were terrific given their undersized forward line to defeat Blackburn in a nail biting finish. Best Players were Tyson Hyams who was just incredible and ably assisted by Luke Molyneaux, Mike Carroll, Pat Bridges, Brook Kainey, Jay Barlow, Steve Orologas. Obviously it is disappointing that they do not have a game today. The Forest Hills boys were outclassed by Coldstream with best players were Dan Batten, James Lapsley, Gavin Carusi, Fraser Walker and Sean Bell. Good luck to our Juniors playing in finals tomorrow and of course we have Finals games at Vermont Reserve as well. It has been a big week with Gerard Murphy’s very interesting and address to players and supporters on Thursday Night and the Eagletonians Business Lunch yesterday. Our Coterie Group gets stronger and more active each year and it is a great way to support the Club. Well done to Chairman Rodney Haynes and his Committee.
