MORELAND ZEBRAS TAKE TO CANBERRA FOR THE 2014 KANGA CUP
Moreland Zebras U/14’s take to Canberra over the next week to participate in the 2014 Kanga Cup. The boys will take to the playing grounds of Canberra in Pool D of the U14 Male Cup up against Tuggeranong United ACT, Scots College NSW and Northbridge U14 Academy Red NSW.

Information on the Kanga Cup
The Kanga Cup is the largest International Youth Football Tournament in the Southern Hemisphere. Held annually each July in Canberra, Australia. The week long event proudly champions the mission of Uniting the Youth of the World through Football. The Kanga Cup is run by Capital Football, the governing body for football in Canberra. The tournament is sanctioned by the Football Federation Australia and the Asian Football Confederation.
The Kanga Cup had humble beginnings, starting in 1991 in Sydney before moving to its new home of Canberra in 1993. The inaugural Kanga Cup had just 35 teams participate, today as the Kanga Cup enters its 23rd year of operation with over 230 teams of 3700 participants from Australia and overseas meet in Canberra for a week of football, culture, fun and friendship like no other.
Previous participating teams of the Kanga Cup have hailed from Australia, United States of America, England, Denmark, Italy, Russia, Georgia, South Africa, South Korea, Chinese Taipei, Malaysia, Philippines, India, Indonesia, East Timor, Fiji, New Zealand and others. Presently the focus on international participation is targeted towards our neighbours in the Asia Pacific.
As Australia's premier football festival the Kanga Cup holds a special place within the football family and is a annual calendar highlight for youth footballers of Australia and the world.
The Kanga Cup is an unrivalled week of football and fun with a busy days of football partnered by a great social program including a massive Opening Ceremony, Player's Disco, Movie Night, Coaches Dinner and Seminar, Awards Evening and much more!
The tournament is open to clubs and schools. The Kanga Cup is for male and female teams Under 10 to Under 18. Three divisions are available in each age group to cater for elite or representative to just participation.
