11 SCFC FEMALE PLAYERS MAKE STATE SELECTIONS
11 of Surf Coast FC’s female players have been selected in Victorian state teams and programs. It is a testament to the quality of soccer being played at the Club, and the coaches and managers in developing clear pathways from a young age into the senior squads.
Jan Juc resident Jade Feakes began her soccer career in the Surf Coast FC junior girls teams, before being picked up in the Victorian talent program. Jade continues to show her outstanding skill set playing in the Under 17’s Victorian team in the Sportsmart Women’s Premier League. The team contests the State’s top clubs each week and are currently sitting 10th on the ladder.
Coby McInerney is part of the Under 15 Victorian squad who compete as the ‘reserve’ team in the Sportsmart Women’s Premier League. Coby is one of the club’s most decorated players, having been a member of the Under 13 Victorian team for the past two years. Coby has also recently been selected to represent Victoria at the National Football (Soccer) Championships in Coffs Harbour this July.
Chiara Centorbi who plays in Surf Coast FC’s Under 14 team has also been selected to represent Victorian at the National Football Championships in the Under 13’s team. Chiara is part of the Barwon Sports Academy football program, along with fellow Surf Coast FC player Lilly Guest – both showcasing their remarkable talent in the sport.
Surf Coast FC’s senior women’s player and top goal scorer, Caitlin Pickett has been selected to represent the Victorian Under 19’s School team in the National Championships this August, held in NSW.
A number of other talented Surf Coast FC junior female players recently trialed, and were successfully accepted into the North Geelong Warriors skills acquisition program – congratulations to Claudia Casha, Coco Cummins, Taylah Kaucic, Izzy Hooley, Eliza McGowen and Tia Rozec.
The Surf Coast FC wishes to congratulate the players and offers them the best of luck at their upcoming tournaments and competitions.
