This report is brought to you by Astoria Honda - Julia Connell will ensure you get a great deal. The firsts has a convincing win against the bottom team at Ivanhoe whislt the seconds recorded their second win for the season with the addition of some experience players. The thirds were gallent against MHSOB but were unsuccessful. The School 1st XVIII were well beaten by Geelong at Geelong.
The seniors were keen to keep the season alive and also to get clear of the relegation zone. A good showing against Carey would amount to nothing if we could not beat the bottom team away from home. We started quite well and had 5.1 on the board by quarter time although we had let them in for a coulple of relatively easy goals. We were applying plenty of pressure when they had the ball and we forced several turnovers. Ivanhoe were doing well in the air but by half time we had kicked away with good accurate kicking 3.2 to Ivanhoes 2.3. Good kicking is good football and we lead at half time by 23 points.
The second half was a grind as it had started to rain and the ball and ground were quite slippery. We were slow in changing our game to be more direct in the wet slippery conditions giving away our "superior attack on the ball" advantage. So it was Ivanhoe who became the accurate team to kick 4.3 for the second half whilst we had more scoring shots but were relatively inaccurate kicking 3.5. However it was a win that we had to have and it made the long journey back from Ivanhoe bearable.

The seconds put on their best performance for the year to win by 26 points. Ivanhoe had won 5 games for the year and therefore started favorites. However we had a some experienced inclusions and were determined to take home a big win. And that we did from the opening bounce to the end.
It was good to see one Spencer Roberts back out there in the magenta and black.

The U19s played quite well but seemed to have some lapses and were just short of a victory at home. We won the first two quarters and were leading at half time by 9 points in a low scoring game. However MHSOB came out after half time with a much more determined approach and kept us scoreless in the 3rd quarter to race to a 12 point lead. We were still in it but could not keep up the pressure and eventually went down by 22 points.
