THIRDS
The CY O'Connor Village Pub Thirds continued on their merry way, obliterating an undermanned West Coast Cowan by 120 points on the junior oval to go to the top of the E2 ladder ahead of a date with 2nd placed Fremantle CBC.
The Blues started shabbily, commiting numerous turnovers in the opening term and giving the 15-man Tigers every chance to make an impact on the scoreboard. However, the Blues 3-man advantage, as well as some stingy defence saw the Blues lead by 20 points at the opening break.
The Blues then turned on the gas, kicking 5 unanswered goals to lead by 54 points at half time. That lead was extended to 76 points at the final change after kicking 4 goals to 1 in the third term.
The final term was one way traffic, with the Blues kicking 7 unanswered goals to run away with the 20 goal victory.
11 different players kicked goals for the Blues, with John Dawkins leading the way with a bag of six, while Joel Horsley was brilliant at full back and in the ruck.
