The major event last weekend was the very nasty health scare suffered by our 94 year old Stats Man Jack Murphy. He went down for the count on the ANZAC March, but thanks to fantastic medical people, he is still with us today. Even managed a spot on the evening News. We had our usual Anzac Medal presentations and the four boys who received this honour were Lachlan Johns, Nick Mendes, Ned Coghlan and Luke Morris. Well done boys. As far as the footy went , it was another fantastic effort by the Seniors to recover from a poor position against East Ringwood last week, but it would be better not to get in that position in the first place. Today Blackburn won’t give us that luxury. The Craig Coghlan Trophy was well won by Lachy Johns followed by Ryan Mullett, Kris Bardon, Tom Schneider, Matt Willcocks and David Barton. The Reserves struggled to get control in very slippery conditions. They finally did for a comfortable win. The better players were Nick Mendes, Andy Hackett, Xavier Barry-Murphy, Jarryd Smith, Kyle Staples, Jesse Gannon, Shane Davidson and Matt Barnard. Good to see both Bryce Fisher and Byron Finnerty back from their media commitments. The Under 19’s had a big day and were never at risk. Best Player were Ned Coghlan, Tyson Hyams, Ben Galante, Ryan Antidormi, Ryan Phillips and Jay Barlow. The FH Eagles still could not get a win, but are improving. Better players Luke Morris, Nick Riddle, James Martin, Jarrad Parr, Chris Bell and Angus Langford. Don’t forget Sponsors & President’s Club Members, be in the Social Club at 12noon for refreshments.
