Laharum dominates Pimpinio

Laharum 254 d Pimpinio 14
LAHARUM showed why it was on top of the ladder and Pimpinio was at the bottom at the weekend with a dominant display of football at Pimpinio Recreation Reserve.
The Mountain Men were slow out of the blocks, but belted the Tigers from the half-way point of the opening term until the final siren.
Laharum’s forward line was in top gear, with recruit Dylan Parish kicking 13 goals and Rhys Bennett and Jason Przibilla booting six apiece.
Hamish Roberts impressed in his return from injury and Dan Easson continued his outstanding form.
The news got worse for Pimpinio, which lost full-forward Matt Wilcox for a month with a hamstring injury.
Darcy O’Connor was named the Tigers’ best.
Pimpinio coach Mal Coutts said he was unimpressed with the on-field demeanour of the Mountain Men in the win.
“Fair enough we don’t like to get beaten, but some of their younger players were laughing at our players during the game,” he said.
Coutts said the disparity between the money Pimpinio and Laharum spent on their players also made it hard for his team.
“They were too good, too strong, too fast, too skilled and they’ve got too much money for us to compete with them,” he said.
Laharum coach Shannon Argall said it had been a pleasing win.
“We were probably a little slow out of the gates, but we were kicking into the wind and we were good once we got going,” he said.
“That was definitely our best performance so far this season.
“Now we’ve got Swifts, Harrow-Balmoral and Edenhope-Apsley in the next three weeks, so we’ll know more about how we’re going after that.”
