A great opening Round for all Teams, with U15’s and U14’s going top of the table with big wins.

Scoop gives you all the action from Round 1. 

U9’s Played Away to Yarra Jets. This is a first year team and Scoop can definitely say they get it! Coach Chris was so pleased to see the boys understand how to go big and go small in game play in the first official match of season 2014.An exciting game to watch from the sideline as the team gave 100% for the go. 

U12’s Lost 4 -2 Away to Northern Falcons Red. Again a first year team put up a great effort against more seasoned opposition. The Team will learn from this outing, and the general feel from the crowd was the game could have gone either way. 

U14’s Won 10 -1 Away to Meadow Park Rangers. The U14’s were a class above this time. Scoop was impressed with the team work and work rate that was maintained all game. The Boys could have drop a gear, but wanted the percentage boost, which put them on top of the table from goal difference. Nick got a bag of 5, but still shred the ball around and unselfishly set up many others. 

U15’s Won 9 – 3 Away to Eltham Redbacks. This was a replay of the friendly from a week ago. A local Derby is always something special; just a few minutes down the road, playing against kids that go to your school; these are the games everyone steps up for. Eltham tried hard, with some of the best commando rolls Scoop has ever seen, but I’m afraid it’s now two Zip folks.
