The day finished well, but there were certainly some struggles on the way and full credit to Rowville. Glad that their player Adam Ziegerink was OK, but disappointed to see our Under 19 boy Pat Bridges suffer a shocking collar bone injury that will finish his year. The Seniors had three tough quarters and then finally got going to take the points. To our players credit, they lifted when things looked very bleak in the third quarter. Craig Coghlan Award went to Jacob Castricum from S.Taylor, G.McCarthy, N.Henley, K.Bardon and N.Johnson. The Reserves messed about, were inaccurate in front of sticks but still got home OK. The Perry Fletcher Award went to Daniel Reid from J.Shambrook, M.Willcocks, P.Chadwick, T.Carmody and C.Dore. The Under 19’s had a very poor start which saw them play catch up for the next three quarters. However, their persistence did get them over the line eventually. The Transit Award went to Ryan Antidormi from T.Hyams, M.Garvin, J.Barlow, C.Bradley and R.Phillips. The FH Eagles did OK for a while but their lack of match practice and general fitness was a factor in a poor second half. But the boys will get better. The Boxing PowerhouseAward was won by C.Bell from F.walker, J.Dwyer, I.Morris and A Hunt. The new Scoreboard was fantastic thanks to the enthusiasm of operator Howard Partridge and his apprentices. If you want to get your business name on the scoreboard on match day, contact John Selton 0408599574. Players Sponsors will also be featured on the board into the future. Deepest sympathy to the family and friends of the late Peter Kiker a member of our 1971 Premiership side who passed away last week.
