Moreland Zebras have let a two goal lead slip to lose 4-3 to a gallant Sunshine George Cross at De Chene Reserve on Saturday afternoon.

Muhammed Chawk gave the visitors an early lead in just the fourth minute with a simple finish at the back post.

But Moreland put their heads down and equalised on 17 minutes with Scott Robson cutting in from the left before firing into the bottom corner.

Five minutes later the Zebras took the lead after Joel Nikolic chested down a long ball for Simon Tolli who found the bottom corner with sumptuous volley from the edge of the box.

Right after the half time break Tolli sensationally played in Evan Batsis who made it 3-1 with a cool finish.

Sunshine then got one back from the spot through Delfin Mosibe after Zebras 'keeper Alex Stojanovski was penalized for taking out a George Cross striker.

In the space of five minutes the Georgies had the lead as Chawk finished nicely from the left before Emmanuel Sadik blasted a loose ball into the roof of the net.

The Under 20s game was postponed to preserve the pitch for the seniors after a week of heavy rain.

After next weekend's Easter break the Zebras travel to Avondale Heights Reserve to play Avondale Heights on April 26.
