Div1 Match Report VS Southern Power
With an opening round wash out the Senior Warriors were afforded another weeks prep to get the run in the legs and the bodies ready for a tough contest against last years premiers, Southern Power. With the preseason out of the way the boys made the adjustment to playing for competition points and strung together almost 4 quarters of tough inside footy. Across the park we had 22 players complete their role and contest the footy hard all day. The Warriors out enthused the Power controlling the corridor and get numbers to the contest. Up by 3 points at half time the challenge was on the boys to maintain their composure and then press home the advantage. The 3rd quarter the Warriors kept the Power goalless to lead by 10 at 3 quarter time again with another tough inside display. With the game in control there was a late slip letting the Power score some quick goals resulting in a nervous final 2min. The result a 5 point win to open the Warriors season.
