Whilst this Friday night will see the Division 1 Bombers side kick off their season with a Blockbuster night match against Coolaroo, the rest of the club will take on the Roos on Saturday at Heritage Oval as well.
With just the Under 12s managing to play their Round 1 Fixtures last weekend, the Under 8's through to the Division 2 and Women's sides will be eager to get their first games under their belt this Saturday when the club takes on Coolaroo in all grades. It will be a fantastic day full of great footy action, and certainly one to bring the whole family along to.
Women's Coach Sophie Smith spoke about the season ahead, "with the competition doubling in size this season, it gives the girls the opportunity to play a full 18 rounds of football over the season."
Smith says that "It is also fantastic to see female footy being played in conjunction with the Div 1 and 2 Teams!"
Senior Head coach Shaun Reardon commented on the Division 2 format, saying that "it is an exciting concept and one that we are taking seriously. Due to our strong senior numbers, there are going to be some serious football talent running around in our Div 2 side. We are training as one squad, not two separate teams, and we expect to be more than competitive in both divisions."
The Junior sides have all been training well with great numbers each week at training, and they are all looking forward to playing their first games at our new home of Heritage Oval.
So bring the family, and get to Heritage oval this weekend to see the whole club in action for the first time in 2014.
