Are you still involved in footy?
Enjoying retirement
Where do you see local QAFL heading in the future?
If clubs make sure that the next generation/juniors are looked after the QAFL will still stay strong
Ian “Easy” Carroll played mainly in key defensive posts playing on and nullifying some of the QAFL’s star forwards, he would also have the occasional stint in the ruck. Recruited from the Wagga Tigers via Ardlethan, Easy had very successful career over three states where he represented NSW, NT and QLD with distinction. With a no nonsense old school approach to his footy Ian was an instant hit at the footy club and was also very handy at club fundraisers when it came to looking for an auctioneer. An integral part of both the 2006 and 2008 premiership teams his unquestionable courage and commitment was best displayed in the 2008 Grand Final when he lined up in the second half of the thriller with a fractured cheekbone. These days Ian lives in the picturesque Southern Highlands with his wife Sophie and is the Property Manager of a local farm. Hopefully Easy gets to a Western Magpies game this year and if he does be sure to mention that you enjoyed his “Blast from the Past”
