All Haileybury College footballers and their families are invited to attend the AFL Football Season Launch on Wednesday 26 March from 5.45-7.30pm at Keysborough. The purpose of the night is to celebrate the start of the new season and to get excited about the season that lies ahead. For parents, the evening will be an opportunity to meet or re-acquaint themselves with the other families from your son’s team. The Corda Club will be running a BBQ and food and drink will be provided on the night. Our guests for the night will include past Haileyburian’s Nathan Freeman (HY 2013) from Collingwood and Lewis Pierce (HC 2012) from St Kilda. They will give us an insight on making the transition from Haileybury to an AFL club. Also speaking will be Tony Elshaugh, Head of Recruiting at St Kilda. He will inform us on what recruiters look for in identifying potential AFL draftees – a great insight for both parents and boys. Our specialist coach, Matthew Lloyd will be there too.
The evening will comprise of:
Handball and Kicking Competitions run by the First XVIII players. Prizes to be won!
Handball games.
Mouthguard fitting and an opportunity to purchase.
Sportsmart van giving you an opportunity to buy boots at a reduced price.
Haileybury socks and shorts to purchase. Nb. Year 7 footballers will be given jumpers.
The venue will be the Fisher Oval at Keysborough. The First XVIII will be playing an internal game from 4.30-5.45pm so feel free to pop along and watch some of that if you wish.
