Training sessions are well on the way for the Navarre netball girls and there’s a healthy number of girls for all grades. We welcome some new faces to the club and we’ll have girls travelling from Stawell, Horsham, Geelong, Ballarat and Melbourne.
Last season all our teams participated in the finals and we’d be hoping for that same success this year. ‘A Grade’ was our only premier team last year and will be striving hard to make it ‘back-to-back’. The junior coaches are the same as last season, but there have been some changes with assistants.
The A Grade will again be coached by the premiership combination of Jess Parry and Caitlin Murphy. B Grade will be under the guidance of Trish Martin and Trish has a new assistant in Amy Kindred. The C Grade has a new coach in Lauren Armstrong.
Leonie Bibby is still in charge of the 13 and Unders with new assistant, Gena Hannett on board. Maxine Clough will continue her role with the 15 and Unders. Her assistants will be Lacey Honeyman and Lillie Comitti. The 17 and Unders will again be under the tutelage of Roslyn Comitti, and her assistant, Meaghan Armstrong.
We start the new season with a new executive committee structure and all members are enthusiastic and keen to continue making positive gains and improvement in and around our club.
The MCDFNL is currently participating in the Regional State League. Navarre players in Jess Parry and Jess Williamson have been playing in the Open team, and Taylor Mason in the Under 17s. Congratulations to those girls for their achievements.
