Tigers Challenge 2014 kicked off at Weyba Rd at 5:30AM this morning with a great roll up of players.
MC (Master of Challenges) Dean Aitken told the players that the day would start off at Weyba Rd then they would be travelling (on foot) to Noosa Lions Park and then onto Noosa National Park, From there it would be off to Main Beach then back to Weyba Rd. Dean told the players that they shouldn't be too concerned that when he was training soldiers in the Army his nickname was "Psycho".
The palyers were divided into four teams for the series of challenges; The Bloods (captain Nathan Winter), The Cripps (David Welch), Team Pride (Pete Trompf) and the Black Cats (Tom McKittrick).
The first challenge was to construct a stretcher out of two pine logs a few bits of rope and a blanket and carry a team member to Noosa Lions Park. Winners were the Cripps clsoely followed by The Bloods. In third place were the Black Cats followed up by Team Pride.
After some fruit and water the teams were involved in boxing drills and took on some ball skills challenges.
A run to the National Park where the teams were told they had to carry two pine logs over the 7km Tanglewood/Coastal track. From the National Park the boys made their way to Main Beach for some water activities. The word is out from the Bloods that if anyone wants to by the coach a present a few surfing lessons wouldn't go astray.
Back to Weyba Rd carrying a sand bag each was the last challenge for most of the boys although for Jimmy and Cam keeping awake during OD's talk proved just too hard.
Dinner at The Surf Club Restaurant with presentations rounded off the day. Winners were The Cripps, led by David Welch with Team (Tiger) Pride, led by Pete Trompf coming in second place. They were followed by The Black Cats (Nathan Winter) and The Bloods (Tom McKittrick).
A fantastic day all round with special thanks to Dean "Psycho" Aitken, Tori Malthouse, Tony "29" Fitzpatrick and Scotty Mckenzie.
